How to Import a Sausage Machine to Nigeria

28 October 2026 4 min read

Want to import a sausage machine to Nigeria? It is much easier when you know what the price covers, what it leaves out, and what happens at each step. This guide walks you through it.

Import a sausage machine to Nigeria

What does the machine price include?

Our vacuum sausage filling machine is priced at USD 3,800 EXW. EXW means ex-works. It is the price of the machine at the factory, and nothing else.

That price does not include:

  • International shipping from China
  • Import duties
  • Customs clearance charges
  • Delivery from the port to your site

So the final cost is higher than USD 3,800.

What is landed cost, and why should you ask for it?

Landed cost is the total you pay to get the machine delivered to your door: the machine price plus shipping, duties, clearance and delivery.

It is the only number that tells you if the machine fits your budget. Brandsquare can arrange the shipping and give you a full landed cost quote on request, so you see one total before you commit.

How do you import a sausage machine to Nigeria, step by step?

  1. Tell us what you want to produce. Share your daily volume and the sausage types you plan to produce, so we confirm the machine fits.
  2. Ask for a landed cost quote. This gives you the full picture, not just the factory price.
  3. Accept the quotation. We then issue a proforma invoice.
  4. Pay a deposit. The balance is paid before shipping.
  5. The machine ships from China. Standard shipping to the Nigerian port takes 4 to 6 weeks, including production if needed and sea freight.
  6. You clear customs. Clearance is the buyer’s responsibility, but we can guide you or recommend trusted clearing agents.
  7. The machine is delivered to your site. Once it clears the port, we can arrange delivery to your location. The cost depends on the destination and is separate from the machine price.

Will the machine work with Nigerian power?

Yes. It runs on single-phase 220V at 50Hz, the same standard used in Nigeria. The motor is 1 kW, so it draws little electricity, and you do not need a three-phase connection.

That matters because many food machines need three-phase power, and setting that up can cost extra. This one does not.

What should you prepare before it arrives?

Get your space ready before the machine lands:

  • Space: the machine measures 1,000 × 550 × 1,470 mm, so it needs a firm, level worktop or floor space.
  • Weight: it weighs 150 kg, so check that your surface can carry it.
  • Placement: it sits on rubber anti-vibration feet, so there is no bolting to the floor. You can move it around your processing room when you need to.
  • Cleaning: the contact parts are food-grade stainless steel and the hopper is removable, so cleaning is simple.

What can you make with it?

The machine fills up to 60 links a minute. You can set the portion weight anywhere from 30 g to 1,000 g, so one machine can make small cocktail sausages and larger ones.

It comes with four nozzle sizes (10, 12, 14 and 17 mm) and works with natural, collagen and synthetic casings. The vacuum system removes air from the meat before and during filling, which gives a dense, even fill. If your sausages split in the pan, [read why sausages burst].
